چکیده

?-Gels are often used as base materials for cosmetics and hair conditioners. ?-Gel-based commercial products typically contain many types of additives, such polymers, electrolytes, oily components, other surfactants, in addition to the three basic components. However, few systematic studies have been conducted on effect additives ?-gels. In this study, we chose surfactant an example initiate structure rheological properties ?-gel samples formulated using cetyl alcohol (C16OH) cetyltrimethylammonium chloride (CTAC). Optical microscopy analysis demonstrated that size vesicles study was decreased via hydrogenated soybean lecithin (HSL) penta(oxyethylene) ether (C16EO5), a nonionic surfactant, them. Rheological measurements revealed at high C16OH/CTAC ratios, viscosity yield stress owing surfactants Conversely, low opposite tendency observed. Small-angle X-ray scattering indicated with HSL or C16EO5 them interlayer spacing their lamellar bilayer stack, which led changes samples.

Study of the Cloud Point of Nonionic Surfactant and Nonionic-cationic Surfactant Mixture: Effect of Electrolytes

Clouding phenomenon generally occurs with nonionic surfactants when the temperature of the system is raised to a certain value. This critical temperature is termed the cloud point (CP). The aqueous solutions of nonionic surfactants show complex phase behaviour including liquid-liquid phase separation at this temperature. The cloud point of aqueous surfactant solutions is influenced by the prese...

Effect of cationic surfactant on the adsorption characteristics of anionic surfactant on cellulose surface

Adsorption kinetics and equilibrium studies of sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate (NaDBS) on cellulosic surface are investigated. Modifications in adsorption induced by cationic surfactant cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) are studied. It is concluded that the rate of adsorption and the amount of adsorption are increased. Importance of these observations in detergency is indicated.
